I came across this, which was news to me, but as far as I can see it has not been logged on MilkyMoon:

Browsing through a hip hop blog a while ago, I found this relatively unknown rapper named Fashawn. Boy Meets World is his debut album and was entirely produced by Exile. Since I had never heard any of Fashawn’s songs before, I didn’t know what to expect. But as soon as I listened to the first track, I was hooked.

On When She Calls, Exile sampled the song “Cosmia” from Joanna Newson. The girl in this song has a weird voice but Exile chose the best line in the track. The first ten seconds are just amazing on the sample, Exile used them wisely. With some great bassline hits here and there and a smooth drum, the beat is complete. Fashawn is great with on the lyrics, flow’s on point. Chorus is so great, the elevation just puts more emotion to the song!

I give this album a 10/10. I know I said some songs are not great and that one song is skippable, but the rest of the album is the best recent music I've heard in a long time. I would definitely recommend this album to all true hip hop heads out there.

These are my guiltiest of pleasures. I have played literally millions. I spend HOURS doing them. It\'s not even funny. I started playing them when I was about 7. Never stopped. If you really want to play more, I kkow where all of the best ones are. It\'s so crazy. There used to be a Devendra Banhart one, but I can\'t find it anymore. I think I might commision someone to make a Joanna one. On Deviantart, there are all sorts of makers taking commish, so I think I might invest for y\'all guys. You know, when I have a job again.

If I had to get a JN tattoo I would get "Sometimes I can almost feel the power" from In California because its the shortest and most tattoo-appropriate phrase that I love.

I have lyrics and poems and random jokes written all over my walls in my room from me and my friends, and because I've been writing on them for years there are an awful lot of JN lines up there. One of my favourites is a big red "And" which my friend Kylie wrote in reference to the first word of Only Skin, and all the implications of starting such an epic song with that word.
