I did like MEM a lot, but I prefer the more mature sound of Ys and HOOM.

As to MEM, I'd be surprised if someone on here actually had a dislike of it though I guess that's possible. I love MEM but prefer her later work. I think this is in part because I actually heard Ys first and discovered MEM later, so to me MEM is not the moment I first connected with her music. It was after seeing live early versions of the MEM stuff on youtube that I really got into it. I love the rawness of expression in these early performances. But, when I put on Ys I feel like I'm instantly transported into another world. I become completely enveloped in the music and narratives and hang on every note and word. For all its excellence, MEM just doesn't do that. Neither does HOOM, but in this case I think its the emotional maturity and nuance that really captures me.

Simply, MEM and HOOM are both great albums, but Ys is and always will be something special.

Hi again Ursula ... someone's got sharp eyes and is reading right to the end!
The letters are the codes for the authors of the blurbs. I don't want to reveal their identities until the very end of the tournament, but when I do, it will be easiest to say that "XXX wrote the blurbs marked [x]" etc. I am most grateful to everyone who has provided blurbs, but I still need one or two more for certain songs. So if anyone is part way through writing one for me, or would like to do one (or more), please send me a PM mentioning what you'd like to do, and I'll let you know what to concentrate on, if I haven't done so already.

fuck i spend so much time read the thread so i miss the last first pairing, and i still want to vote so
if i can still vote

1 : go long (even if choose between go long and S&D is for me totally impossible, my 2 prefered songs...)

Thank you for your votes for the parings 1-6.
I am not sure what to do about those for 1-3 actually. If they had not affected anything major, then of course I would have added them in, but in fact your vote would change quite a lot if I did! So perhaps I should count it as half of a vote, that way the pairings results won't be affected, but your votes will still carry some weight.
(And you have reminded me that I did not post the actual pairing results in my earlier post, so I will go back and amend that).
As for blurbs ... yes you can: I will send you a PM.
