ALL ALIVE / Songs that have never been played live.

gig discussions

I'm basing my list on YouTube videos, so it's probably not entirely accurate:

Erin
The Fray

Of course, it's possible that she has played the first few, but she obviously didn't like them enough to transfer them to her first album, so it makes sense that she wouldn't be playing them anymore.

But what about Does Not Suffice? Has she played it live and there's just no videos of it? If not, why?

I adore "Erin" .... "Three little babes" has been played live, there are a few mp3s around. And she played it back in 2005 when I first saw her live. :luv: (not a fan of the song though)

An old man plays it at our local banjo contest and it's freaking hilarious.

I caught him on video!

She played "Does not Suffice," in Richmond! Best song on the set and one of my favorite songs she's ever written. I saw her play, "Flying a Kite," a long time ago in high school when Milk Eyed Mender had come out, I saw her up in DC play it was beautiful.

Also, "What We Have Know," is a fantastic song that only made it on the single to "Sprout and the Bean," and she never plays that anymore :(

She has played Does Not Suffice now. I think she won't frequently, it might be too painful. There are a couple of songs like that - for a while, she wouldn't play Cosmia a lot.

I deeply agree with twistedstring.

What We Have Know is really a wonderful wonderful song. <3
I am waiting for a couple of time to hear this song live.
Too shy to ask her unfortunately,
but I really hope she will play it on one of the two Paris show.

Of course, would also love to hear some old songs like En Gallop, The Fray, Swansea and all that stuff.
but my preference goes to WWHK.

Why don't she play 3 hours long ?

So does anyone know if there is a video or mp3 of a live version of Flying a Kite, floating around here somewhere?

I wonder if he is still alive. He played in the "advanced" contest which made us laugh. What a sweetie!
