Postby janaesanchez on 26 Aug 2010, 01:39

Hello! I'm looking for piano chords for some of Joanna's songs. The only one that i found is for Inflammatory Writ, so if you can find any more i would greatly appreciate it:)

-Soft As Chalk
-Easy
-Peach,Plumb,Pear
-Flying a Kite
-Good Intentions..

basically all of the songs she has recorded with piano! :)

Andy, do you know what time it is?
-Hammer time?

HERE IS THE POST FROM THE OLD FORUM:

" I took a couple days to transcribe the songs from the new record, and I have seen a couple of people asking if there were any transcriptions out there, so I thought I'd post them. A couple of these songs have some real brain-twisting progressions. Especially "No Provenance," which, until I started working on it, I thought had the same four or five chords over and over, only to learn that it actually contains around 16 or 17 chords and three or four key changes. I have a new appreciation for that song now. On the other hand, "Baby Birch," which was an early standout, only contains three chords (four if you count the D/C# walkdown as a chord). It was also particularly interesting to me that "Kingfisher," which sounds so otherworldly and beautiful, contains mostly very simple, easy-to-play chords. "Go Long," which is one of my very favorites on the record, is also incredibly simple to play, containing only four chords repeated in the same progression for the entirety of the song.

Please note that I am more of a pianist than guitarist, and these songs are transcribed in the key that Joanna plays them in on the harp or piano. Some of them are not exactly guitar-friendly keys. "Easy," for example, is largely in F-minor, and "No Provenance" is mostly in C-minor, with a carpal-tunnel-inducing B-flat-major-9th in there for good measure. On guitar (or piano for that matter) it may be easier to just take the base chord instead of playing the actual "version" of the chord that Joanna plays. For example, instead of B-flat-major-9th, you could just play a regular old B-flat. It won't sound exactly the same, but the gist will be there. In some cases, if there is interest, I may be able to transpose some songs into a more guitar friendly key, and then you can use a capo if need be to put the song into a key of your liking.

Another caveat is that I'm not sure the very end of Autumn is correct. There's a big swell of orchestration there that sort of drowns out the chords being played on the harp.

Anyways, enjoy, and let me know how they sound!

1. Easy

(C#)Easy
(Gsus4)Ea - (G)sy
(Bb)My man and (F)me
(C#)We could rest and re(Gsus4)main (G)here
(Bbm)Easi(Fm)ly
(C#)We are tested and (Gsus4)pained (G)by
(Bb)What's beyond our (F)bed
(C#)We are blessed and sus(Gsus4)tained (G)by
What (Bbm)is not (Fm)said
(Dm)No one knows what is (Bb7)coming
(Dm)Or who will harvest what we (Bb)have sown
Or (F)how I've been dulling and (G)dulling in the (Bbm)service of the heart a(F)lone
Or how I am (Dm)worn to the bone (Bb7)by the river
(Dm)And in the river (Bb)made of light
(F)I'm your little life-(G)giver, I will (Bbm)give my (F)life

(C5) (D5) (Eb5)

Ha - (Fm)ven't you seen (Eb)what I've (Bbm)seen?
Do - (Fm)n't you know what you (Eb)ought to do? (C5)
(Fm)I was (Eb)born to (Cm)love (Bb5)and I in(C#)tend (C5)to (Eb5)love (Fm)you
Do - (Fm)wn in the valley where the (Eb)fields are (Bbm)green
Wa - (Fm)tch my luck turn (Eb)fro and to (C5)
(Fm)Pluck every (Eb)last daisy (Cm)clean (Bb5)till only (C#)I may (Eb5)love (Fm)you

This is all repeated for the rest of the song. The only other change is towards the end of the song:

(F) Speak my (G)name and (Bb)I ap(G)pear
(C#)Spe - (Gsus4) (G) - ak and (Bbm)I ap(Fm)pear

2. Have One On Me

(Gmaj7)From the courtyard I floated in (A5) and (Bm)watched it go down
(Dmaj7)Heard the cup drop and thought, "Well that's why they (F#m)keep them around"
(C#m7)The blackguard sat hard (B)down with no (Amaj7)head on him now
And (Dmaj7)I felt so bad cause I (Gmaj7)didn't know how to feel (G/F#)bad e(Em7)nough
To make him (Dmaj7)proud (Dmaj7) (D7) (D6)

(Gmaj7)By the time you read this I will be so (Bm)far away
(Dmaj7)Daddy Longlegs, how in the world am I to be ex(F#m)pected to stay
(C#m7)In the night, in the (B)night you may (Amaj7)hear me call
(Dmaj7)Pa, stay your hand and (Gmaj7)steal your resolve, (G/F#)stay where you (Em7)are
So long and (Dmaj7)tall (Dmaj7) (D7) (D+)

(D)Here's Lola--ta(C)da!--to do her (Bb)famous spider (F)dance for you
Ligh(G)ten (G7)up your poc(A)kets (A7)
(F)Shake her skirts and (Eb)scatter, there
A (Bb)shrieking six-legged (Gm)millionaire
With a (C)blight in his sockets
(D)Miss Montez, the (C)Countess of La - (Bb)ndsfield ap(F)pealed
To the (G)King of(G7) Bavar(A)ia (A7)
Saying, "(F)Pretty papa, if you (Eb)are my friend,
Mr. (Bb)Daddy Longlegs they are (Gm)at it again
Can I (C)see you?"
(D)Poor Lola! A tar(C)antula's mounting (Bb)Countess Landsfield's (F)handsome
Bras(G)siere, (G7) while they all (A)cheer (A7)
And the (F)old king fell from (Eb)grace while Lola (Bb)fled to save (Gm)face
And her ca(C)reer (C) (C/B)

(Am)You caught a (Em)fly, flo(B)ating (C)by
(D)Wait for him to (F)drown in the dust
(E)Drown in the dust of (C)other flies
(C/B)Where(Am)by the machine is (Em)run and the (B)deed is (C)done
(D)Heaven has no (F)word for the way
(E)You and your friends have (C)treated poor Lou(D)is
(C)May god (Bb)save your (F)poor soul
(D)Lo(A)la! (D) (A)
But (Gm)there is (F)nothing (Eb)I ado(Bb)re a(Cm)part
From (Gm)that whore's (F)black (C)heart

Well, (D)don't that just beat (C)all, Miss Gilbert (Bb)called to Castle(F)maine
By the silver (G)dollar (G7) and the gold (A)glitter (A7)
Well, (F)I've seen lots but (Eb)never in a (Bb)million years would (Gm)think to see you (C)here
Though the (D)long road begins and (C)ends with you I cannot (Bb)seem to make a(F)mends with you
(G)Lou (G7) - (A)is (A7)
When (F)we go out they're (Eb)bound to see (Bb)you with (Gm)me (C)
At (D)night I walk in the (C)park with a whip between the (Bb)lines of the whispering (F)jesuits
Who are poi(G)soning you (G7) a(A)gainst me (A7)
There's a (F)big black spider hanging (Eb)over my door, can't go (Bb)anywhere any(Gm)more
Tell me, are you (C)with me?
I (D)called to you several (C)times where the (Bb)change took place and (F)then arrived
All (G)night and I (A)died
But (F)all these songs when (Eb)you and I are long (Bb)gone will carry (Gm)on
Mud in your (C)eye (C) (C/B)

(Am)You asked my (Em)hand, (B)hired a (C)band
(D)"In your heart is (F)all that you need
(E)Ask and you will re(C)ceive," it is said
I (C/B)threw my bou(Am)quet and I knocked 'em (Em)dead
(B)Bottle of white, (C)bottle of red
(D)Helpless as a (F)child when you held
(E)Me in your arms and I (C)knew that no other could ever
Love (C/B)me as you (Am)love, love me as you (Em)love
But (B)help me! I'm (C)leaving!
(D)I remember (F)everything
(E)Down to the sound of you (C)shaving the scrape of your razor
The (C/B)dully-a(Am)brading black hair that re(Em)mained
When (B)you clutched (C)at me
(D)That night I came (F)upstairs half dead
(E)And in your kindness you (C)put me straight away in a cupboard
With a (C/B)bottle of cham(Am)pagne, and then later on the (Em)train
It was (B)dark out, I was (C)half dead
I (D)saw a star fall (F)into the sky
Like a (E)chunk of thrown coal as if (C)God himself spat like
Cornered (C/B)rat, I real(Am)ly want you to do this (Em)for me
Will you (B)have one (C)on me?
(D)It was dark, I was (F)drunk and half-dead
And we (E)slept knocking heads, sitting (C)up in the star-spangled air
Knocking (C/B)heads like buo(Am)ys, don't you worry for (Em)me
(B)Have one (C)on me!
(D)Meanwhile I will (F)raise my own glass
To how (E)you made me fast and ex(C)pendable
And I will drink to your (C/B)excellent (Am)health and your cruel(Em)ty
Will you (B)have one (C)on me?
(D)Helpless as a (F)child when you held
(E)Me in your arms and I (C)knew that no other could ever love (B)me (D) (A) (B)

(B) (D) (A) (B) 9X

(Gmaj7)From the courtyard I floated in and I (Bm)watched it go down
(Dmaj7)Heard the cup drop and thought, "Well, that's why they (F#m)keep them around,"
(C#m7)The blackguard sat hard (B)down with no (Amaj7)head on him now
And (Dmaj7)I felt so bad cause I (Gmaj7)didn't know how to feel (G/F#)bad e(Em7)nough
To make him (Dmaj7)proud, well (D7)daddy long(D+)legs are (D)you
Well (D7)daddy long(D+)legs are (D)you
Well (D7)Daddy Long(D+)legs are you (Gmaj7)proud (G/F#) (Em7) (Dmaj7) (D7) (D+)

3. '81

I (Dm)found a little (Bb)plot of land in the (F)garden of (C)Eden
It was (Dm)dirt and dirt is a - (Bb)all the (C)same
I (Dm)tilled it with my (Bb)two hands and I (F)called it my (C)very own
There was (Dm)no one to dispu - (Bb)ute my (Dm)claim (D5)(C5)(Dm)

Well, (F)you'd be shocked at the (C)state of things
The whole (Dm)place had just (Bb)cleared right (C)out
It was (Dm)hotter'n he - (Bb)ell so I (F)lay me (C)by the spring
For a (Dm)spell as naked a - (Bb)as a (Dm)trout (D5)(C5)(Dm)

(Dm) (Bb) (F) (C)
(Dm) (Bb) (Dm) (D5) (C5) (Dm)

The (F)wandering eye that (C)I have caught
Is as (Dm)hot as a (Bb)wandering (C)sun
But (Dm)I will want for (Bb)nothing more in the (F)garden, (C)start again
In my (Dm)hardening to every (Bb) heart but one (Dm) (D5)(C5)(Dm)

This is all just repeated throughout the song. The ending bit is just the same chords, but slower.

I be - (Dm)lie - (Bb) - e - (F)eve, re(C)gardless
I bel(Dm)live in (C)every - (Dm)one (C5) (Dm)

4. Good Intentions Paving Company

(C)Twenty miles left (F)to the shore
(Am)Hello, my old count(F)ry, hello
(C)Stars are just beginning to (G)appear
And I have never in my (Dm)life before been here
And it's my (C)heart, not me, who (F)cannot drive
At (Am)which conclusion (F)you arrive
(C)Watching me sit here bolt upright and (G)cry for no good reason
At the (Dm)eastering sky

And the tilt of this (C)strange nation
And the will to re(Bb)main for the duration
Waving the (Am)flag, feeling (Bb)it drag
Like a (C)bump on a bump on a log, baby
Like I'm in a fist(Bb)fight with a fog, baby
Step, ball-change and a-piro(Am)uette
And I re(Bb)gret, I regret

How I (G)said to you, "Honey, just open your heart,"
When (F)I've got trouble even opening a honey (C)jar
And that right there is where we (Bb)are

The rest of the first half of the song is the same progression repeated.

Here's the second half:

And (C)no amount of (D)talking is gonna (F)soften the (C)fall
But like (Bb)after the rain, step (F)out of the (G)overhang that's all (Am)
It (C)had a nice (D)ring to it when the ole (F)opry house (C)rang
So with a (Bb)solemn auld lang (F)syne, sealed de(G)livered, I sang (Am)
And (C)there is hesi(D)tation and it (F)always rema - (C)ains
Concerning (Bb)you, me (F), and the (G)rest of the gang (Am)
And (C)in a quiet (D)hour I feel I (F)see every(C)thing
And am in (Bb)love with the ho - (F)ok upon which (G)everyone hangs (Am)
And I (C)know you meant to (D)show the extent to which you (F)gave a god-da - (C)ang
You ranged real (Bb)hot and real cold, but I'm (F)sold, I am at (G)home on that range (Am)
And I do - o - (Bb)o hate to (F)fold right here at the (G)top of my game (Am)
When I've been trying with my (Bb)whole heart and (F)soul to stay right (G)here in the right lane (Am)
But it can make you feel (Bb)over and o -(F)old, lord, you (G)know it's a shame
When I (Am)only want you to pull (Bb)over and hold (F) me till I can't re(G)member my own name (Am)

(C) (F) (Am) (F)
(C) (G) (Dm)
(C) (Bb) (Am) (Bb) (repeat until fade)

5. No Provenance

(Cm)Halle(G)lu, (Bb)Ha - (G#)allelu
I have died (Cm)happy (G)and li - (Bb)ived to (G#)tell the tale to you
I have slept for (Cm)forty years (G)and wo - (Bb)oke to fi - (G#)ind me gone
I woke (Cm)safe and (Bbmaj9)warm in (G#maj7)your arms
In your (Eb)a - (Eb7)arms, (G#maj7)your (Fm7)arms
In (Bb)your (Eb)arms (Eb/D)

(Cm)Not in(G)formed (Bb)of the na - (G#)atural law,
Squatting, lordly, (Cm)on a stool, (G)in a stall,
(Bb) We spun gold (G#) clear out of straw.
And, when our (Cm)bales of bu - (G)ullion were stored,
(Bb) You bu - (G#)urned me like a barn.
I burned (Cm)safe and (Bbmaj9)warm in (G#maj7)your arms
In your (Eb)a - (Eb7)arms, (G#maj7)your arms (G#/G)

(Fm)I'm a(C#)fraid of the (Eb)Big Re(F)turn.
There's a (F/E)certain conver(Dm)sation (Bb)lost, and that (A)loss in(D)curred (D/C)
With (F)nobody remaining to (G)register (Fm)who had (C#)passed this (C)way in the (F)night,
In the (F/E)middle of the (Dm)night ne(Bb)gating their (A)grace and their (D)sight
Till (F)only I remember or (G)mark,

How we (Cm)had our (G)talk
(Bb) We to - (G#)ok our ride,
So that there was (Cm)noone home and the (G)lights of Rome (Bb) flicke - (G#)red and died.
And, what's more I (Cm)believe that you (G)knew it too, (Bb) I thi - (G#)ink you saw their flares,
And kept me (Cm)safely (Bbmaj9)una(G#maj7)wares,
In your (Eb)a - (Eb7)arms, (G#maj7)your (Fm7)arms
In (Bb)your (Eb)arms (Eb/D)

The rest of the song follows the same progression except for the last "in your arms."

Lay me down (Cm)safe and (Bbmaj9)warm in (G#maj7)your arms
In (G#/G)your (Fm)a - (G5) - (G#) - (C)arms

6. Baby Birch

This (D)is the song for (G)Baby Birch, oh, (Bm)I will never (G)know you (D)
And (D)at the back of (G)what we've done there (Bm)is the knowledge (G)of you (D)
I (D)wish we could take (G)every path, could spend a (Bm)hundred years (G)adoring you (D)
Yes, I (D)wish we could take (G)every path cause you know I (Bm)hated to close the (G)door on (D)you

This is repeated until this section

When it (D/C#)was (Bm)dark I called and (D/C#)you (D)came
When it (D/C#)was (Bm)dark, I saw (D/C#) (D)shapes
When I (D/C#)see (Bm)stars, I feel in (D/C#)your (D)hand
And I (D/C#)see (Bm)star, and I reel, a - (D/C#)a - (D)gain (G)

These are the only two progressions in the song.

CONTINUED: HOOM DISC 2

1. On a Good Day

(Bb)Hey hey (Eb)hey, the (F)end is (Bb)near
On a (Gm)good day (Eb)you can see the (Dm)end from (Eb) here
But I (Bb)won't turn (Eb)back now, though the (Gm)way is (Eb)clear
I will (Bb)stay (Gm)for (Eb)the (Bb)re(F)main(Bb)der

The rest of the song is the same progression.

2. You and Me, Bess

(C) (D) (Bb) (Ebmaj7) (Cm) (F) (Bb) (Gm)

(Am) (G#) (F) (C) (Am) (G#) (F) (C)

(C)We picked our (D)way (Bb)down to the (Ebmaj7)beach
(Cm)Watching the (F)waves dragging (Bb)out of our (Gm)reach
(Am)Tangling (G#)tails like a (F)sodden sheet (C)
(Am)Dangling en(G#)trails from the (F)gut of the (C)sea
(C)Hoarding our our (D)meals, al(Bb)falfa and (Ebmaj7)rolls
(Cm)Trying not to (F)catch the cold (Bb)eye of the (Gm)gulls
I (Am)hope mother (G#)nature has (F)not over(C)heard
Though (Am)she doles out (G#)hurt like a (F)puking bird (C)

La (C)la la la (F)la, la (C)la la la (F)la
La (Am)la la la (Eb)la la la (Dm7)la la la (C)la
La (C)la la la (F)la, la (C)la la la (F)la
La (Am)la la la (Eb)la la la (Dm7)la la la (C)la

We (C)stayed for the (Eadd9)win(E)ter, (D)no one told (F#m)us
About the (Am)laws of the (C)land, (Bb)I hold my (Dm)own
But (C)you with your (Eadd9)hun(E)ger, (D)you on the (F#m)other
(Am)ha - (C)and (Bb)make yourself (Dm)known

The rest of the song follows this progression.

3. In California

(Csus4) (C) (Csus4) (C)

(Csus4)My heart became a (C)drunken runt
On the (Cm)day I sunk in this (Bb/C)shunt
To (C)tap me clean of all (D/C)the wonder and the sorrow I have (Bb/C)seen
Since I left my (C)home
(Csus4)My home on the (C)old Milk Lake
Where the (Cm)darkness does fall so (Bb/C)fast it feels like some kind of (C)mistake
Just like they (D/C)told you it would (Bb/C)
Just like the (C)Tulgeywood
(D/G)When I came into my (Cmaj7/G)land
I did (Cmaj7sus4/G)not under(C/G)stand
Neither (Bb/G)dry rot, nor the burn pile
Nor the (A/G)bark beetle, nor the dry well, (G#/G)nor the black be - (G)ar

But there is a(D)nother who is a little (G)older
When I broke my (Bm)bone he carried me up from the (A)river(G)side
To spend my (D)life in spitting distance of the (G)love that I have known
I must stay (Bm)here in an endless (A)even(G)tide
And if you come and (D)see me, you will upset the (G)order
You cannot come and (Bm)see me, for I set my(A)self a(G)part
But when you come and (D)see me in Cali(G)fornia (Gsus4)(G)
You cross the (Bm)border (G)of my (D)heart (A)
I have sown un(D)tidy furrows (D7)cross my soul, but I am (G)still a coward (Gm)
Content to see my (D)garden grow so (D7)sweet and full of someone (G)else's flowers (Gm)
(A)Sometimes I can (Bm)almost feel the po - (A)o - (G)wer
(A)Sometimes I am (Bm)so in love with yo - (Am)o - (G)ou
(A)Like a little (Bm)clock that trembles on the (A)edge of the (G)hour
(A)Only ever (Bm)calling out cuckoo - (Am)oo - (G)oo

When I (F/C)called you, you (C)little one
In a (Cm)bad way, did you love me? (Bb/C)Do you spite me?
Time will (C)tell if I (D/C)can be (Bb/C)well
And rise to meet you (C)rightly
While (D/G)moving across my (Cmaj7/G)land
(Cmaj7sus4/G)Brandishing themselves like a burning (C/G)branch
Ad(Bb/G)vance the tallow-colored, wall-eyed (A/G)deer
(G#/G)Quiet as gondo(G)liers

While I wait all (D)night for you in Cali(G)fornia
Watching the (Bm)fox pick off my goldfish from their (G)sorry golden state
And I am (D)no longer afraid of (G)anything (Gsus4)(G)
Save the (Bm)life that (G)here a(D)waits (A)
I don't belong to (D)anyone, my (D7)heart is heavy as an (G)oil drum (Gm)
And I don't wanna (D)be alone, my (D7)heart is yellow as an (G)ear of corn (Gm)
And I have torn my (D)soul apart from (D7)pulling artlessly with (G)fool commands (Gm)
(A)Some nights I just (Bm)never go to sleep at (A)all, and I (G)stand
(A)Shaking in my (Bm)doorway like a sentinel (A)all a(G)lone
(A)Bracing like a (Bm)bow upon a ship and fu(Am)lly a(G)bandoning
(A)Any thought of (Bm)anywhere but ho - (A)ome my (G)home
(A)Sometimes I can (Bm)almost feel the po - (A)o - (G)wer
(A)And I (Bm)do (A)love (G)you
(A)Is it only (Bm)timing that has made it such (A)a dark (G)hour
(A)Only ever (Bm)chiming out cuckoo - (A)oo - (G)oo
(A) (Bm)Cuckoo koo koo koo (G)oh oh oh
(A)My (Bm)Cuckoo koo koo koo (G)oh oh oh
(A)My (Bm)Cuckoo koo koo koo (G)oh oh oh
(A)My (Bm)Cuckoo koo koo koo (G)oh oh oh

(Csus4)My heart I wear (C)you down
I (Cm)know, gotta think straight, keep a clean (Bb/C)plate
Keep from (C)wearing down
(D/C)If I lose my (Bb/C)head, where am I going to (C)lay it

For it (Bb)has half-(F)ruined (G#)me to be (Bb)hanging a(C)round
Here among the (Bb)daphne (F)blooming (G#)out of the (G)big (C)brown
I am (Bb)native (F)to it, (G#)but I'm (G)over(C)grown
I have (Bb)choked my (F)roots on the (G#)earth, as (Bb)rich as (C)roe
Here, (Bb)do - (G#)own in Cal(G)iforn(C7)ia

4. Jackrabbits

I was (Dm)tired of being (C)drunk
My (Am)face cracked like a (F)joke
So I (C)swung through here like a (G)brace of jackrabbits
With their (Bb)necks all (F)broke
I (Dm)stumbled at the (C)door with my boot
And I (Am)knocked against the (F)jam
And I (C)scrabbled at your (G)chest like a mute
With my (Bb)fist of (F)ham

(F)Trying (G)to (Am)tell you that I (F)am
(G) (Am)Telling you I (F)can
(C)I - (C/B)I (Am)can
(Eb)Love you a(C)gain, love (Bb)you (C)again

This progression is repeated through the rest of the song.

5. Go Long

(G#m)Last night a(B)gain you were (G#m)in my (B)dreams
(G#m)Several ex(B)pendable (F#)limbs were at (E)stake
(G#m)You were a (B)prince spi - (G#m)inning (B)rims
(G#m)All senti(B)ments Indian (F#)given and (E)half-baked

The entire song is this same progression repeated over and over.

6. Occident

(Am)Mercy (Em)me, the (F)night is (C)long
(Am)Take (F)my (Eb)pen to (Bb)write you this (F)song
(Dm)Lord is it (G)harder to (Eb)carry (C)on
(G)Or to know when you are (F)done
(Am)All my (Em)life I've (F)felt as (C)though
(Am)I'm (F)in(Eb)side a (Bb)beauti(F)ful
(Dm)Memory re(G)playing with the (Eb)sound (C)turned

1. Soft as Chalk

(D)So so (C)long ago (G)and so far a(D)way
(D)When ti - (C)ime was just a line that you (G)fed me when you wanted to (D)stay
(D)We'd talk as (C)soft as chalk till (G)morning came pale as a (D)pearl
(D)No time, no - (C)o time, now I (G)have got all the time in the (D)world

Say (D)honey, did (Bb)you belong to me, (Eb)tell me, honey, was your (D)heart at rest
And darling (F)all the mourning (C)doves were howling us a (Bb)song of love's god(Dm)awful lawless(C5)ness
(D5)Law(C5)less(Dm)ness
Say (D)honey, did (Bb)you belong to me, (Eb)tell me, honey, did I (D)pass your test
I lay as (F)still as death un(C)til the dawn, until I (Bb)wrested from that god(Dm)awful lawless(C5)ness
(D5)Law(C5)less(Dm)ness

This progression repeats a second time, followed by this section:

I (F)sat up and (C)blinked when (Dm)you ap(Bb)pear - (F)ed, so (C)pale you were (Bb)nearly (F)clear
(F)Later I (C)stumbled (Dm)to my (Bb)be - (F)ed, all a(C)lone in the (Bb)bran - (F)ches
I (F)lay in the (C)dark (Dm)thinking a(Bb)bout (F)all of my (C)friends and their (Bb)cha - (F)nges

(Am)And I do not (Dm)know if (Bb)yo - (G)ou (Eb)know just (Bb)what you have (F)done
(Am)You were the sweetest (Dm)o - (Bb)o - (G)one I have (Eb)ever laid (Bb)my eyes u(F)pon

It's a (F)beautiful (C)town with the (Dm)rain coming (Bb)down
(G)Blackberry (Eb)rosemary, (Bb)jimmy-crack-(F)corn
You've got the (F)run of the (C)place now that you're (Dm)running a(Bb)round
And may (F)kindness, (Eb)kindness, (Bb)kindness a(F)bound

6. Does Not Suffice

This song has the same chords from the refrain of "In California," and it is almost all the same few chords repeated:

A sparkling (D)ring for every (G)finger (Gsus4)(G), I'll put a(Bm)way and (G)hide from (D)view (A)

This is repeated over all the lyrics, the instrumental outro goes like this:

La la la la (D)la la la la (D7)la la la la la la (G)la la la (Gm)
La la la la (D)la la la la (D7)la la la la la la (G)la la la (Gm) (A)
(Bm) (A) (G) (A) (Bm) (A) (G) (A) (Bm) (A) (G) (repeat until fadeout)

The chords are a bit different for You and Me Bess, though what's posted here is mostly correct - the outro with all the "la la"-ing is: a, EbM7, d7, C

These are really handy! Thank you, really want to learn jackrabbits. I have ambitions of learning Kingfisher but it is so complex and long.

And every little gust that chances through
Will dance in the dust of me and you
