No, the creepy bit comes with the overanalysis and the looking specifically for old photos to work out- what, if she once had short hair? Of course it wouldn't be photoshopped, who would bother to do that? If it were me, I'd be creeped out. I'm not surprised she doesn't venture onto the net much, it'd be like walking into your friend's brother's room on accident only to discover that they've got hundreds of photos of you stuck all over the walls. It's damn creepy.

It may also be because I have no interest in her hair, or dresses, or who she's dating, or where she was last seen, or what her preferred brand of bread is, I only want to know about her music. Everything else that she is not broadcasting, I don't give a shit about.

OK guys, don't get your knickers in a knot. So what if some fans are more obsessed than others? So what if others think that's sick and twisted? We all love Joanna...don't we? I may not be a "real" fan anymore, since I no longer scour the internet several times a day trying to find the least little tidbit, the tiniest little morsel, the vaguest of rumors about Joanna (or any of her immediate family or closest friends), but I can understand those who might feel that way. Please don't condemn what you can't comprehend, or chastise those who condemn. Just love Joanna...and each other.

Woah woah woah, I didn't anticipate that kind of reaction- I'm a little hurt that you think I'm being 'holier than thou' or think that I'm 'better than you'- I was attributing why I thought it was creepy to how little interest I personally had in it. Sorry? I don't give a crap if other people take more of an interest in that kind of thing than I do, I wasn't implying for one second that I was BETTER than other people and I resent that.

I still think finding photos of a 16yr old Joanna and posting them on a forum for discussion is creepy, but I'm not going to say it shouldn't be done. I HAVE been on the internet before, I just can't really see Joanna being a prime target of the 'shop but maybe there's other even more obsessive communities out there that I've missed.

I've been coming to this forum for years, thought I could get away with saying that I thought one particular branch of discussion was creepy. Sorry for doing so. Won't bother anymore.

Back for more... I also dislike the implication (well, less implication, more directly said) that I'm not a fan because I don't really care about the above mentioned. I've been to see her six times in the last two years, I flew to Budapest solely to see her, I paid for two of my friends and my 9-year old sister to come see her because I wanted them to experience it. I listen to her records on a daily basis. I OWN all her records on vinyl- I don't own a fucking record player. I will talk endlessly about her music to anyone who will listen. I had my entire CD collection stolen from my car, apart from Ys which was left in my boot- I pretty much cried with happiness that I'd still got it. I have a Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie-inspired print on my wall.

I bought a goddamn harp. I can't play harp. Don't tell me I'm not worthy of posting on a fan forum because I think it's creepy that her yearbook photos are being posted online- that mainly stems from seeing an interview with her where she said she didn't LIKE things like that being on the internet.

Let's not create animosity where there doesn't have to be any. We're all allowed to have different opinions, and it's great that the 'poles have always been able to have mature discussions, there aren't a whole lot of forums like that on the net. I don't think you need to be prying to be a fan, polli. I'm fanatical about her music and I'm fanatical about her as an artist, but I have very little interest in her personal life beyond curiosity.

I play it now! Ish, I'm learning. I can play Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie, though in the wrong key and I sure as hell can't sing when I play yet. Wasn't a £6k jobbie, just a little one I'll get lessons when I can afford one. Needed to learn to read bass clef one day, anyway.
