Was listening to the Princess Mononoke soundtrack in bed last night. I don't know why because some of that music is and pretty hard to fall asleep listening to. But it's so amazingly expressive - I actually think I understand the film better just from listening really closely to the soundtrack.

So I was listening to some PJ Harvey (thanks rainbowdash!) and I forgot that my iTunes was on shuffle, so I ended up listening to Ribbon Bows by accident. And it just totally blew me away. It's not even, like, my favourite (though I've certainly come to really appreciate it recently - probably top ~10 HOOM song) but I was just completely in awe of how good it is - the melody, her voice, even the mandolin. It's ridiculous, sometimes I'll go a few days or weeks without listening to Joanna, and I'll be having a good time with other music, but when I go back to her it's just love. She's easily my favourite artist ever. I've never loved any music more~

Anyway, I'm listening to Catherine by PJ Harvey now :mrgreen:

lol I may not love her as much as Joanna but she's hardly alone in that, and her music is certainly very different and awesome.
