What is the big deal about new ideas and creativity? I've heard and seen a lot of new ideas that were supposedly creative and they were about as far from being art as they could be.

not all art has to be new ideas, in fact a good portion of the music I enjoy isn't anything groundbreaking,
but the way this chick is being marketed you'd think she's re-spinning the fibers of what we know as music or something, when in fact everything about her is very mundane and a repeat of most popular culture around us.

I mean, a lot of artists (i.e. Billy Joel) become successful because they just work off of tried-and-true popular-but-not-so-original methods, and it's fine if that's what she's going for, but if that's so she/they need to drop this whole like-nothing-you've-seen-before sense of superiority.
