THIS IS NOT MY TUNE / PJ Harvey

Hey guys, I finally listened to "Is This Desire?"

Saved it for a road trip, and I'm so glad I did! It was awesome, and interesting, and moving, and fucking intense. Thank god for PJ Harvey! I didn't love her initially (I started with 'Stories from the city' when I was like 15 and didn't dig it), and I only got into her through white chalk. I thought at the time that I just wouldn't like any of her old stuff. Boy was I wrong!

Thanks rainbowdash! You're my savior.

Enough of this terror, we deserve to know light.

Yay! I'm so glad you like it!

Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea was the album it took me the longest to like, actually, what with the Thom Yorke duet and "Beautiful Feeling" but "We Float" and "Good Fortune" are great

Also if anyone likes Flannery O'Connor I've kinda been recording the references to O'Connor stories in Is This Desire

and a great version of The Wind!

And he used to make me pray, wearing a mask like a death's head. When he put me there in the back seat, and he said, "Jesus save me, Jesus save me."

I'm not a PJ Harvey fan, but glanced at that blog post rainbowdash cuz it seemed interesting. Then I was in a bookshop today and happened upon the collected stories of Flannery O'Connor. A friend recommended her to me a while back and having had your post rouse my interest, I picked it up and read A Good Man Is Hard To Find and I was hooked. Bought the collection and I've been reading it ever since I got home. Thanks! :)

Awesome!
Flannery O'Connor is my favorite writer,
(there's a recording of her reading A Good Man Is Hard to Find, which is really cool)
Parker's Back and Revelation are my favorite stories by her!
And Wise Blood is also a really great book, I haven't yet read The Violent Bear It Away, though.

(I get very excited about these things, and, using my good judgement, had to edit out a couple exclamation points here)
