Lisa Lynne played her harp in the labor & delivery room when I was in labor. We now listen to her lullaby CD

Very cool!

I had the pleasure of seeing Park Stickney in October(November?) of 2009 in Phoenix.

Re arm raising: I'd spotted Joanna doing this in certain vids, and always guessed that it was a circulation thing! Shows how wrong you can be. Thank you for the explanations.

oh, hey. Cecile Corbel. She is a little sickeningly sweet, though.

CocoRosie
(Sierra specifically being the harpist)
The harp isn't the main focus of their music, and it's nowhere near as complex as Joanna's playing, but it's a big part of their atmosphere.

(the song starts around 1:20)

I find Cocorosie so polarising track-wise. I feel they have some really good tracks but almost all the rest are shocking. Humm anyway the point being the track K-Hole has some pretty cool harp going on eh?

I adore CocoRosie. The only song of theirs I'm not too crazy about is Werewolf (perhaps because it's so irritatingly overplayed)
K-Hole does have very nice harp, though it's depressing. I think the prettiest harp-wise is Hairnet Paradise.

I detest CocoRosie so much. Soooooo much.

Shhh, CocoRosie is God.
I think over the years I've become so wrapped up in them to the point where I can't even make sense of someone now liking them and I take any insult to them as much to heart as I would take an insult against my own mother.

The thing is, most of what they're doing comes off as terribly self-conscious and because their musical output is so hit and miss it comes across as a very weird planet that only occasionally orbits close to our earth. I don' t know if that made sense really

I love CocoRosie. It strikes me as performance art, and I think that is a fair assessment... I also love how dynamic the songs are. It will sound one way on the album but totally different live, and even then it still changes.

Yeah I concede they are fantastic live.

I sort of get what you mean,
though for me it's 100% "hit" I understand how for others it could be all "miss"

They're so great live,
I would have seen them last night if it weren't for age limits.
Glasslands. I hate Glasslands.

I am like that with Joanna, I take it as a personal insult when someone is not fond of her.
But I am a super spaz when it comes to music. I like Joanna, but not other music like Joanna, I like cabaret music, but I hate the Dresden Dolls with every ounce of passion in my body. I looove metal, but Mettalica makes my skin crawl. I listen to obscene amounts of goth music, but I don\'t like Siouxsie and the Banshees. Don\'t get me wrong, I love Avant-Garde music (Sleepytime Gorrila Museum is one of my all time favourite bands), but CocoROsie pisses me off. ALso, I feel like Sierra and Cassidy are like Jack and Meg White, only opposite.

Well, technically, (getting out my calculator)
I have 95 songs by them, and I don't really like Werewolf,
so it's more like 98.9%

^^ Her name is Bianca, not Cassidy, haha. Casady is their last name. (I personally think they're more like Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash in reverse, though)
I'm the same way as far as contradictions in music taste. I'm extremely particular. Like, even though I love Jedi Mind Tricks I can't process Army of Pharaohs, and I love Dan Deacon but Animal Collective almost makes me want to go deaf.
