I was searching for some good reviews on Newsom's work and stumbled upon this very interesting article on lazy reviewing of her music and on Joanna being recurrently labeled as child-like or fairy but never actually a genius in comparison to male musicians who easily fall into that category because of being men. Check it out when you've got the time, I think it's an excellent piece of writing. And the comments are very interesting, too!

Read the article, liked the first section, but the bit at the end where he bashes on Gaga as being "sex-obsessed" and then calls Newsom unique only as a female indie artist really bothered me. I wasn't able to finish reading, it got bad enough to me
