Yeah, it's just that the time it's connected to very specifically was more right after it was released, when I just moved home from Vancouver. It makes me think of driving back and forth to Portland when my boyfriend at the time was home from college. Which really wasn't all too traumatic of a time, but it just feels so weird and strange to be transported back there. I don't know, I don't think all of HOOM is too connected to trauma, and Ys and MEM were listened to during tumultuous times as well (or perhaps I just feel like most periods of my life are tumultuous). It just makes me feel so uncomfortable and sad and hasn't transcended that connection the way the other two albums have.
