THE FRAY / The Dare/The Magic (Thirteen Horror)

off topic chattery

Postby sadie on 12 Jan 2012, 10:27

Has anybody here read either of these?

I'm going to do 'The Magic' now. I'll post and tell you if it scared me or not.

It didn't work. I think I looked into it too much beforehand. Would anybody like to be sent a copy? (they're impossible to find online). You mustn't live in Italy as it's banned there. And I am not worried about my 'soul being taken in lieu of payment' (as said in the book).

Oh, it's a short story that has gone viral because of its ability to upset people.

Hmm didn't really do a great deal for me. I couldn't get my room to be that dark as it's morning and the light shines clearly through my curtains, and I guess maybe I just can't see myself being too affected by that sort of story. I'd love to find something like that which actually worked though. What did you think?

I thought it would have been scary if I had not known what the story was about when I did it. It's very clever though, making the reader establish a sense of fear of something actually happening (see reaction videos on Youtube). There's another story called 'The Dare' that you perform at a graveyard with friends.

Hi there,

I have a question about the rules. I'm new and in case I start a thread at some point how come this should have been elsewhere? I thought this was the forum for general chit chat, and this seems to be that sort of thing.

Just wanna be sure I understand

thanks

:)

This thread was moved from 'Right On' to 'The Fray' because it's meant for off-topic discussion. Right On is for discussion of Joanna Newsom.
