queenie shut up i'm so into make up, i've tons of eyeshadow, lipsticks etc...but i think i use to put vibrant eyeshadow on summer and true red lipstick on winter, i like the contrast, i hate lancome mascara it hurts my eyes, it's really expensive and they are tested their products on animals. that's weird how the girls aren't satisfied whith what they got, i love american products and you use french haha. when i was younger i used true indian khol buy in this indian grocery and i add less pb than with my lancome or chanel or such products. but know i'm using this german brand "alverde" it's organic and sooo cheap, khol :1.50€, mascara 3.50€ etc...and it look so natural. ursula you absolutely have to use burn pink, powder pink, it will flatter your eyes and skin so much
I'm terrible with make-up. I went through a phase where I didn't want to wear any, so by the time I was 20-ish and sort of wanting to wear make-up, I didn't really know where to begin. Also I'm just not naturally good at this stuff.
My skin is super dry even though I have break-outs. My acne is worse now than it ever was when I was a teen. Most make-up leaves my skin flaky and gross. I'm also ultra pale. Most foundation I try to wear is too dark and leaves me orange. Basically, my skin sucks, and I'm always so embarrased. Especially when I look good in the morning and by the time I get to work, I've dried all out. I've found some products that work though. I wear:
Hourglass Veil Primer + NARS foundation (in Siberia -- pale!!). I also wear NARS blush in orgasm (doesn't everyone?) and Amazingcosmetics concealer which is the only concealer I've ever found that actually works on my skin and stays on.
I'm too lazy for eye make-up most the time, but I always use Urban Decay primer. I actually really like Wet N' Wild make up. That stuff is super cheap but really pretty colors that wear really well! My favorite shades are Nutty & Walking on Eggshells trio (shades of brown, cream, pink ... my favorites). I've bought various Mac colors and other pricier eyeshadows, but I always go back to my drugstore $1 Wet N' Wild... I'm not really settled on a mascara, right now I alternate between Urban Decay & Blinc.
Even though I'm not very good at make-up, I love it. I love buying make-up so much. It's stupid how much I have considering I only wear the above most of the time.
haha me too, i buy tons of different stuff and use the same, or perhaps only ones per year. i bought the orgasm nars blush but i have to put a lot if powder to get the color, i prefer to use it as an eyeshadow, it gives a really glamorous eyes in add of eyeliner
My aunt gave me the Lancome mascara. I really like the bruch, but the formula smells really weird, like the heavy perfume old ladies wear. I am a sucker for cheap makeup, too. Ann, have you tried Elf, the 1$ stuff at Target? They have a cream blush that is so great. I was wearing 95 cent NYC lipstick in Retro Red when Joanna complemented it. I rarely rarely wear blush. I flush super super easily, so If I wear blush, I inevitably look like a clown at some point, because I am always hot, and therefore, always flushed. I use Pixi primer. I really like it because it's very light and doesn't clog my pores. I love playing with eyeshadow. I really love wearing cream eyeshadow, and I have a great chocolate colour from Boots. I love makeup so so much.
Of course, I have one aim, the grotesque. If I am not grotesque I am nothing.
I'm really new to makeup so not sure how well it comes out! I love the natural look like you have there milki. Starting to like it though if you have time it's really nice to relax and take extra care. Still want a day to myself to do the whole burlesque look. It looked ok last time but I need practice.
And every little gust that chances through Will dance in the dust of me and you
I really like Nars, the coverage is really good (my skin is terrible), but I also have super super dry skin, so if you don't then my suggestion will probably be unhelpful. I always liked Mac (though I've heard some complaints, it seems to be a staple for so many people) I just couldn't wear it because it's too dark.
Have you tried a primer? I used to be super minimal with make-up and I didn't really even know things like primers existed. When I used to wear foundation alone it would end up like you said. I can't even believe how much of a difference using a primer every day made. My hourglass veil primer is like putting silk on your face ... I love it. But yeesh, it's pricey.
i use both depends on the makeup style, i'm not fond of foundation on day, i use concealer to eyewrinckles and spots then primer then veil powder mac isn't good for sensitive and dry skin, i use armani, but i guess it's not the brand but the formula, try anything "light coverage", if you use a good concealer not necessary to use a heavy foundation which makes crinckle on dry areas i don't know if you have access to nivea product but the "stay real" is sooo amazing, it doesn"t exist in france or germany anymore but it contains propylene glycol and worst : silicone, but all the organic foundation i tested were awful, powdery, heavy, matte etc...
I use vitamin E oil on my face at night. its super cheap and works really well.
As far as eyeliner goes practise makes perfect. I spent six weeks wearing cat-eye eyeliner everyday so i perfected my technique. start out with pencil and work up to gel and then liquid. I use my index finger to pull my eyelid taught and make a line as close to my lashes as possible and make it thicker by layering. Or you can make tiny dashes for a very natural look. For cat eyes, the hardest part is making them match on both sides. Make -up artist tick of the trade? A piece of scotch tape makes a good straightedge for a clean line.
And if you feel like you look weird in eyelier try using eyeshadow and an angled brush for a softer look. This works very nicely in colours that aren't black. Navy, Grey, Plum, Chocolate.
God cosmetology school taught me a lot.
