We can't stop others from getting in other than making everyone have to be accepted by email from one of the mods before being allowed to post and that's somewhat exclusive. The wave of bots should come to an end and it's not too much trouble to delete that stuff anyway.

If it gets terribly bad we could ask Lina to put a CAPTCHA on the registration process. ReCAPTCHA is free, I understand, but sometimes difficult to read; nonetheless you can reload it until you get a legible one so it shouldn't hinder the registration of actual humans. That would put a stop to all but the most persistent of bots. For now, me and Tom can handle it, and Ann, wherever she is at the moment.

According to my nerd boyfriend, the spamming will just get worse and worse and he thinks we should implement ReCAPTCHA into the registration process.

Yes, that's what I'm afraid of. An abandoned forum ends up being more active than it ever was when it was used by actual people because the bots practically breed. A ReCAPTCHA would probably be a good idea anyway.

I was just tinkering around in the admin settings and realised we could re-instate our old posting ranks, tadpole - narwhal etc. depending on post count. Do you guys wanna do that?
