Drag City Drops Clue About New Release?

Hey guys, forum lurker from the very beginning here. I was sure someone else would post about this, but since it's been a few days and the "news" has been traveling around Tumblr, I thought I'd go ahead. It looks like Drag City dropped a massive hint the other day concerning a new record from Joanna:

Speaking of your sweet, stupid expectations, there's one more record we're talking about throwing on the November date that you can't know about yet, which means we can't tell you. And given that this is a NEWS-letter, fuck! That BLOWS. Our mind, that is. Because that BLOWS - as in, SUCKS, that is. Gee, when did blow jobs become such a estimate of disappointment? That kinda snuck up on us. This seems unfair to all of us who enjoy a good blow job! Hm, we'll have to exploit this further in newsletters down the line. Fortunately, there will be many newsletters in our future, while we sell all the INCREDIBLE new releases mentioned above - along with the one we didn't mention 'cause we can't - and lots of other ones too.

And here's the thread from Unforumzed.com that possibly corroborates the not-so-vague hint from the Drag City newsletter:

Via Unforumzed:
I was at a wedding over the weekend with a publicist for Drag City. She informed me that Joanna's new album is done and is coming out this year ( tentatively November). She has heard it, so I'm assuming it is done and they are just working on the campaign, artwork, etc. In her opinion, it is very much in the same vein as HOOM.

Yay!

I realllyyy hope it happens.
Not to sound cheesy but a new Joanna record would be perfect to listen to during late fall/early winter, my favourite time of the year :)

If this is true November will be the best month of the year.

Via the Facebook group-

"PLUS the super-secret record for you super-UNsecret punters!"

(scroll to the bottom of the newsletter)

Of all the artists on Drag City, it has to be Joanna, right? Nearly every one of their other well known artists are listed on the newsletter (irrelevant note: Ty Segall, her other labelmate, is quite excellent -- you should give him a listen).

Reading these newsletters to obsessively check for Joanna's release is such a headache! Get an editor, Rian Murphy.

I'm also tempted to read the "Why the long face?" intro as a nod to JN... But since that song plays on repeat in my head almost constantly, I may be alone on that one!

I actually admire Drag City for keeping everything so close to their chests until release date (if that's really what's happening). It lets me think that we're following an artist who's a long way removed from the crassness of the "pop" world, not only in terms of her work, but also in the way it is marketed. I'm glad, too, that there aren't dozens of official or semi-official re-mixes, re-imaginings, re-works, and re-arendings that of course we'd have to buy, but would drain the resources, and possibly the patience, and could easily dilute the brilliance.

My fear, though, is that I'll not visit here for a week or so, and find that not only is a new album out (easily rectified with a trip to HMV or Amazon) but that a London performance has been announced and it's all sold out by the time I hear of it.

Set up a Google Alert. You'll get an email whenever her name is mentioned online. You can customize it so that your inbox isn't flooded.

OK so we're well into November now (approximately 7 minutes, where I am), and STILL there's no more news of this rumoured release.

I'm not being impatient, am I?
