Kevin Barker posted this news today:

On Sept 4th, Family Jams will be up on In-Demand TVVOD, iTunes, Amazon, Xbox, Sony Playstation, Blockbuster online and Vudu!!!!! That's only 6 days away!!!

No idea if that's worldwide or just US, or whether it's download to keep or just a stream. The DVD is also on its way this year.
For those who haven't seen it (which I think is most of you) you're gonna be amazed by how much early Newsom is in this film. Early drunk Newsom too.

awesome! except I really don't like Devendra Banhart... I actually never finished watching 'the Eternal Children' because I couldn't stand to hear him talking about himself, so I hope there's more Joanna than him

UK downloads are on their way, but no date yet. The DVD is scheduled for November - with bonus Joanna concert footage. So... it's not too much longer to wait for anyone outside the US, who can't access this.

I watched it but didn't see joanna singing fleetwood mac drunkenly...unless it was one of the "family jams" on stage and i just dont know know my fleetwood mac..i thought it was gonna be in a hotel room or something...and solo.....my favorite part was the vetiver guy asking joanna to play that "cinematic dramatic" peice she had been working on she busts out ys in the hotel room..
so was the fleetwood mac song on stage?

No, the Fleetwood Mac drunk singing is in a room and she's standing behind a table. It's been a long time since I saw it, so can't remember exactly

I just finished watching it -- I don't remember any particular time when Joanna appeared to be drunk? I remembered that from here, so I was keeping an eye out for it! I don't know much Fleetwood Mac, so that wouldn't stick out to me.

Also, Jessie had mentioned that someone should post screencaps, so I was excitedly taking screenshots every time Joanna was on camera, only to discover, once the film was all over, that they are all blank. I assume this is some sort of copyright thing? Does anyone know if it's just iTunes that does that, or if it's something within the video file, or something? It bums me out that I bought the movie but I can't even take a screenshot. :/ I was timing it out for the prettiest pictures of her too!

I wish she was in it more, but it was a nice watch. It was really interesting to me. I know some people frown upon the admiration of Joanna Newsom as a person instead of her just her music, but I love getting a sense of who she is and who she's been. And of course, I loved hearing that 2004-era voice.

Yeah, there's not as much Joanna in this as we would like. Mostly she's hanging out in the background and the boys do all the talking. If you are really into watching long shots of Devendra Banhart looking in awe at a dragonfly, this movie is for you. Otherwise, you can just fast forward any time she's not on screen. (Not to say that the rest isn't interesting, but it's only really interesting if you are a fan of Devendra and Vetiver.)

yeah, it's a copyright thing (I remember last year i watched a movie for a school project and thought i was getting all these screen captures for the powerpoint to find that the DVD player doesn't let you do that) but if you can play it in VLC media player, you can take screenshots of it from there

also, I don't think I'll buy it cos I'm really not interested in Devendra and I don't know who vetiver is

I wouldn't want to discourage anybody from buying it! There really is some nice Joanna stuff, and if the DVD has extra concert footage that alone would be worth the price.
