The CD is in - Joanna is track 10.

"Joanna Newsom's experience volunteering in the hospital as a teenager gave her a great appreciation for the innovative and far-reaching impact the Cancer Center Harp Group has in our community and it's power for connection and healing."

Love this! There was a harpist playing in the hall of the labor and delivery ward when I was in labor with my first. Very comforting.

There was a harp playing in Heaven just before I left there to come here, and it sounded very much like Joanna's track on this album. :shifty:

Was it really 1999? This is a 17-year-old Joanna playing?

one can only imply from the title and credits on the CD that it was at least written in 1999 as an instrumental.

Now whether this recording on the Harpfelt release was recorded recently or 17 years ago is a fine question for the next interviewer who comes to these forums and asks if we have any good questions for JN :)

To me it sounds almost definitely like it was recorded a long time ago. Her playing style sounds more like it did on Walnut Whales/Yarn and Glue, and also I feel like the quality of the recording would sound different if it had been recorded recently.

yeah that is why they issued the takedown notice to YouTube and VIMEO I guess.
Still my version above is far better quality for those looking to download it.

Interestingly, the track has a catalog # SN15, which precedes catalog numbers for late '09/early '10 Sea Note releases by Bill Callahan and Bonnie Prince Billy. SN14 was released at the end of '07.
