EDIT: VIDEO OF NEW SONG
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRuPSf2Zh34Hi everyone! I just got back from Treasure Island- Joanna played a great set!
Ok, on to the first takeaway from this show- NEW SONG. Gorgeous solo piano piece with something to do about a hunter? I don't know what to call this unofficially, so I'll refer to it as Look and Despair for now. Musically, Does Not Suffice may be the closest comparison, though to the piece's credit, I had a difficult time coming up with a comparison. Also, I have a difficult time describing her music with only one listen, so any description I could come up with would be lacking. With this and Diver's Wife, I'm very assured she's still producing work of the highest caliber. Unfortunately, I'm doubting the availability of a bootleg, or especially one that would be quiet enough (music festivals can be a little loud, I was a little worried about her playing one for this reason). She also only had an ensemble of her, Neil, and Ryan; I enjoyed hearing a lot of these songs a bit more stripped down.

Very grateful to have witnessed the debut of two new Joanna songs in the last year.
