I never thought to ask if JN has had any opening acts for the past few American dates. I'm seeing her tonight in Richmond but when I saw her in the spring she had the Moore Brothers open. They were enjoyable but I think JN has enough music to fill an entire night's set.
It's good to see she's put Colleen and Sadie back in her set.

I just thought of something weird/eerie. Last night I had a dream about my dog, Snowball, who died 3 years ago and about going through that again. It was awful. Then today I see this. "Sadie" was really what got me through that, because, regardless of whether Joanna really meant it to be about a dog, I could easily interpret it that way for myself. It may sound dumb, but I loved that fucking dog and that was one of the worst things I ever went through, so obviously this song will always have a special place in my heart because of that.
Anyway, maybe I'm just looking for a connection but I am convinced I have some kind of indirect subconscious psychic abilities.

and I was convinced it was because all the major music news blogs were running that M. Ward is contributing Sadie to the JN covers project the last few days.

PS- how does it feel to have your band mentioned on Pitchfork? :hyper:

It doesn't sound dumb at all! I think it's really beautiful that you have that special connection with the song.

I won't lie. I peed my pants a little (figuratively).

Well, some people might think it's silly to get so emotional over a dog. But I generally like dogs better than people, so...And I'd had Snowball since I was 8 (hence the creative name) and she was the sweetest dog ever and, obviously, had a white coat. And the end was really rough. After she died, I would listen to "Sadie" on repeat and bawl for like a week.
