I said I'd share more about the show later almost a week ago! I'm finally ready to make a post, and it probably won't contain much of interest, as you've all already heard all about the show. It was great meeting Polli, Peter and Rob, though I wish we would have had more time to talk. The listening party before the show was great, my friend bought me a couple of blueberry lagers, meaning I drank before a Joanna show- something I've always said I wouldn't do! They were quite delicious, though, and their effects had disappeared before Joanna took the stage. My seat was in the 15th row, but there were two open seats in the 3rd row, so my friend and I took them
Bridges and Balloons was a pleasant surprise, as I had assumed she'd open with '81. As soon as she started playing the silliest smile appeared on my face. For some reason that's always my reaction when she starts playing. Colleen was the highlight for me, as well. It's one of my favorite songs and I wasn't expecting her to play it. I found my eyes watering a few times throughout the show, but Baby Birch hit me harder than it did the other times I've seen her play it. I was choking back sobs. The Orpheum was gorgeous, it's easily the most beautiful theater I've ever been in. While I wasn't overly impressed with Phoenix (sorry, locals!) I'm really happy that I flew down for the show.
